This is a question that quite a few people have asked me and the answer is as early as 8 weeks. If no Y chromosomes are present within the blood sample then this indicates a baby girl. Therefore if a women were to show a Y chromosome in her blood this would show that she is carrying a baby boy. Women naturally only carry XX chromosomes and men carry XY chromosomes.
